First Day Adventure

So Saturday I learned that communication is key...but not always possible.  One would think with technology as advanced as it is today that phone calls should always get through...especially when four are made and missed and never even recorded as missed...  So Tarah and I never ended up talking about final airport plans and I waited at the airport for hours waiting for her to meet me, she waited at the hostel for me... it was fun...BUT I got to people watch and I love that.
I also saw many cute children, some loud and unapologetic others cute and wide-eyed.  My favorite was a little Spanish girl who looked like the spitting image of baby (not so baby) Sara.  Or rather, Sara is the spitting image of this little chiquita since she´s older and what I think Sara will look like soon.  After sitting alone bored out of my mind and exhausted at the airport, seeing this familiar face really made me smile.  It´s funny how children can do that to ya.  But I digress...
So after shelling out the 2€ for internet access in the hopes that Tarah was bored thinking my flight was at 9pm instead of 9am and sitting at a computer- and the first keyboard not working- the second computer hit the mark.  Emails from Tarah wondering where in the world I was, freaking out.  I´m glad I wasn´t the only one.  So I hailed an expensive, but relieving, cab to my hostel in a jiffy and we were united at last!  I was falling asleep at the airport and tried to stay awake in the cab and finally crashed at the hotel in bed for a OH SO it was indeed the most happy nappy for me (per Lamb Chop, love ya bro).  Then we woke up, walked around, ate too-rich of tapas, got delicious ice cream, walked some more and came home to our lovely hostel for some How I Met Your Mother on the Mac.  Sitting in that bunk bed I felt like I was at camp, and got to be a giddy kid again to think of where, in what city, in what country, in what continent I happened to be lounging at that moment.  I am so lucky to be so easily filled to the brim with happiness by such a simple moment, something I hope to remember forever.  Just to think of what the rest of my 22 days has in store for me left me again as a kid, having trouble falling asleep due to excitment in Madrid, España.
